Inside a morning citrus harvest

Long-time volunteer harvester and photographer Willie Chan shares a look inside a Village Harvest volunteer event.
In the middle of a California winter on a crisp Tuesday morning, 12 volunteers gathered in Sunnyvale under a clear blue sky to pick citrus at the peak of the season. Eventually the hand picked fruit made its way to Second Harvest Food Bank to share nature’s bounty from the Valley of Heart’s Delight to be distributed to our neighbors in need.
