A CELEBRATION IN AN ORCHARD - MAY 22, GUADALUPE HISTORIC ORCHARD
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Help us celebrate the transition of seasons to the summer fruit season and reaching a major milestone....  This year, Village Harvest has already gathered as much as we did in all of 2002!

Bring your family and friends to share in a few treats from our gardens and a tour through the Guadalupe Historic Orchard and Gardens.  There will be prizes for those who guess how many pounds we've harvested to date and for guessing the record tree!

Hope to see you there!  Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

Date:        Thursday, May 22nd

Time:        5:30 - 7:30 pm
Place:       Guadalupe River Park & Garden, Historic Orchard

JAMMIN' SESSION:  HERB OIL & LOQUAT JAM
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is for those who don't like knives -- there will be no chopping or peeling at all.  We'll be doing a quick infusion method to make herb oils (a wonderful, healthy compliment for bread), then playing with loquats for jam.

Place:   All Saint's Episcopal Church
555 Waverley Avenue (@ corner of Hamilton), Palo Alto
            - Park in the city parking lot on the corner of Cowper and Hamilton.
Door will be open in the walkway across from the daycare center.
            - From Waverley entrance, Kitchen is in building with blue double doors in courtyard,
walk around to the left and the side door will be open.

Snacks, drinks, and jars to take home provided.

SUPPORT US:  PRESERVES FOR SALE (AND PRICE INCREASE JUNE 1)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you tried the delicious preserves made from fruit we harvest?  Sales of volunteer-made jams and other gourmet products help offset our coordination and volunteer expenses.  Check out the wide variety and descriptions on our web page www.villageharvest.org/Preserves.htm, then order through the form found there.

If you need another incentive -- order soon, as we'll be increasing prices June 1.  We've learned that we've been selling our handmade preserves well below market rates, so now's the time to reorder your favorites.

In addition to our web site, we sell our preserves at selected crafts fairs and events.  Our next fair is the interesting Campbell Highlands Games, a celebration of all things Scottish.  This year it's Saturday, June 14th, 9 am - 5 pm, at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds.  Admission is $10 adults, $6 Seniors and Youth.

We need volunteers to help sell preserves at our booth -- free admission provided for those who RSVP before June 5th.

Cheers,
