HARVESTING
FOR THE HUNGRY - PALO ALTO postponed to
3/22:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The
sun is shining and the birds are singing... but according to Mr.
Weather Man, not on Saturday. It was a hard call but to err on the side of
safety and fun, we've decided to postpone our Harvest for the Hungry date in
Palo Alto to next Saturday, 3/22. Same place, same time, different
date.
Date:
Saturday, March 22th
Time: 8:30am -
12:30pm
Place: 222 High Street, Palo
Alto (North of University)
Partner: Valley of
Heart's Delight, Foundation for Global Community
Recipient: Urban
Ministries & Second Harvest Food Bank
Harvest: Assorted
Citrus - Oranges, Lemons, Grapefruit, Tangerines
For those
who were planning to attend this weekend, please check your calendars to see if
you can still join us on the 22nd and re-confirm. For those who were busy
this weekend and were hoping that we'd postpone so you could participate, your
wish is granted. For everyone else, please plan on coming and joining us
in a great time.
We will send out a confirming e-mail on Friday,
March 21st on our rain or shine plans.
Instructions for volunteers:
-
Dress with long sleeves and comfortable shoes... Long sleeves are to protect
your arms from branches. Bring gloves and hand pruners if you prefer to
use them.
- Be prepared to drive or carpool from home to home... If you have
a large car or truck, it's always appreciated
- Feel free to bring a bag to
take home fruit for yourself. Tree ripened fruit from Santa Clara Valley... it
doesn't get any better than this!
